Wedding Bouquets Using Dried Flowers in France

Let's continue the subject of dried flowers in case you’re still a skeptical bride…most flowers can be preserved and or dried for bouquets. Some flowers do better than others in keeping their colors. The point at which they are cut and hung to dry is critical to how well they look once they’ve been turned into everlastings. Certain roses such as white roses are harder as they tend to turn a yellowy cream but can be combined with other complimentary flowers that enhance the antiqued white rose. Red roses turn very dark when they are dried but make a beautiful fall bouquet with that deep burgundy. And using glycerine to dry flowers keeps them flexible. Gypsophila or babys breath works great preserved with glycerine. There is also sand and a silica type desiccant that also preserves flowers with their colors still intact.
