Dried wedding flower bouquet france destination wedding

If a butterfly can think the dried flowers are not dried and fresh with nectar, so will everyone invited to your wedding!

Environmentally friendly, long lasting, and on trend all can be advantages to having dried flowers for your wedding rather than fresh. BUT they are also beautiful and give an ambiance to your venue of timelessness and romance.

As part of The Painted Bouquet business, I also grow my own flowers to dry. Hanging flower bundles can be sighted throughout my home and carefully stored wrapped bundles are filling corners and coffres. I love dried flowers, always have and I’ve been working with preserving flowers for 40 years. I guess I didn’t get the memo they went out of style?

Working with dried flowers to make a wedding bouquet

Dried flowers already preserved

There was an anti-dried flower trend for many years as people thought of their grandmothers’ arrangements, dust and fading near a lace curtain window. The 1970’s, dried floral arrangements were in vogue and I can remember my mother spray painting puff balls for a corner bouquet along with cat-tails that sat near the door. It was the time and perhaps the reason I continued loving the idea.

Like a photograph that captures a moment, preserved flower bouquets are similar in that they stop time in a way. These flowers lived but now are going to live a lot longer and that means you get to enjoy your bouquet along with your photographs!
