Reasons to Marry in France
Planning a wedding? Inspired by all those beautiful wedding photos in stunning locations? Not sure where to go for your destination wedding?
Here are a number of reasons to have your wedding in France. The best destination if I don’t say so myself!
Locations, Location Location
Picturesque chapels, fairytale châteaux and village churches are everywhere in France so you can say your vows in a wonderfully ancient building whether or not you’ve opted for a religious ceremony. Perhaps an olive-grove overlooking the bay of Cannes. Or how about a vineyard nestled in Bordeaux? But wait! There’s more; rocky coast of Brittany, stunning views of the Pyrennees, ski slopes of the Alps or a Christmas wedding in Alsace with the holiday markets and decorations. The choice of venues in these areas is endless. In summary, getting married in a Château is often the prime reason for choosing France as a wedding destination.
Imbibement…is this a real word? Dictionary: The act or process of imbibing
You’re probably going to have wine and champagne at your wedding. Exported French wines are far more expensive than they are in their native land. And the best aren’t exported!
If your wedding is in France you have easy access to the very best wine, at the very best prices. Champagne is one of your big day’s most important imbibements!
The Views
This reason kind of goes with location but the diverse areas of France also lend themselves to incredible views and perfect photo spots for your wedding pictures. From luscious vineyards, to towering mountain ranges with everything in between, France is such a beautiful country, these breathtaking landscapes will not only be unique for your wedding but create unforgettable memories for your guests.
Gastronomy
In other words the food! One thing I’ve learned while living in France is that food takes on a whole new level here than anywhere else. The time spent at the table is important and food is the center of most activities from family to friends. It is the identity of France and no matter where you go, the French know how to put on a party with delicious fare. The choice of cheeses with French breads will make your guests drool.
Patisseries
The sweets that are ubiquitous here in France not only are delicious but could be wedding decor on their own they’re so beautiful. The French wedding has a croquembouche which is a towering cone shape made of puff pastries and filled with a rich cream. It then has a sugar syrup dripping from the top to glue this large triangle together. But let’s not forget the colorful macaroons that make perfect party favors nor the chocolate! Oh. The. Chocolate!
The Grande Dame
Or what is known as The Eiffel Tower. I promised myself that no matter how many years I live here or see this iconic monument, I will never tire of her. And to this day I still have to pinch myself that I get to see her and live in France. Although it’s not possible to get married at the top of the Eiffel tower, it is a much-loved location for proposals. There are many locations for your wedding photos with this world renown edifice in the background.
A Memorable Vacation
France is a major holiday destination, and no wonder that it is a desired location for destination weddings as the wedding party and guests can extend their trip to further enjoy the country. And it gives guests, some of whom may never have traveled, a foreign experience.
