Thank you for choosing me to be your wedding florist! Congratulations and I’m honored to be part of your day! You’ve chosen me for me floral design but also my expertise and professional knowledge. I want to make your vision come true but sometimes it may require a decision or change that isn’t what you expected. I will always work to make the best and do the utmost for your wedding floral dreams. But to make our relationship work, here is what I need from you.
Your budget is important to me so what you tell me as your budget has to be accurate and honest. This way we have an immediate understanding with your vision and my knowledge of what can be done to create your flowers. And trust.
I know Pinterest is SO COOL-I too fall down the rabbit hole called Pinterest and want this and that and it becomes a mish mash of wants and dreams instead of what I really can do. So, Pinterest is great for ideas but also very adept at pushing trends and current ‘in’ things. What if you went beyond trendy and let me come up with something just for you and your partner? Give me the trust that I will do something super great for you within your budget and by doing so, my creativity can blossom. It is a win win situation!
You should remember that just because you chose lots of non flower items or even artificiel flowers means that it is less expensive. Greenery isn’t necessarily cheap either. Again, letting me decide for you and knowing your honest budget, I can work to make it happen.
Color trends are just that. What palette do you want? Try sticking to this. Again, it’s easy to want everything you see on social media but select your palette and stick with it. Be flexible also because if you’ve looked at nature, there are a lot of colors and not every color in nature is a Pantone.
Sometimes I think a flower is in season and normally it is. But around the world things happen, weather influences, pandemics and wars. Product availability can change so be prepared but trust me that I will only substitute the equal or better!
Having flowers everywhere at your wedding with full cascading structures, rivers of floating flowers and overhead canopies of flowers is a very dreamy wedding but in a limited budget not possible. So, let’s be smart where we put expensive flowers, where we want the most impact and where it just doesn’t matter.
I’m available for you as much as possible and will always respond. But remember others are also getting married so Thursday through Sunday are exceptional working days for floral design. Don’t get upset if I can’t get back to you right away on one of these days. And it is always better to write one email than a bunch of emails that can get lost. So try and save your ideas in a folder and when you’ve exhausted ideas, send them to me in one email. I will be better prepared to interpret your vision.
And most importantly, remember my goal is your happiness! If you’ve chosen me, then it is for a reason and I will always live up to that reason. But we are also human and humans working with nature does not always go as planned so be flexible and understanding and we will have a great working relationship!
