empty glass at a wedding with no flowers

Boring! No Flowers?

The title sounds dystopian doesn’t it? A world without flowers? Even though I am writing about it, I find it hard to imagine. We take for granted flowers. Flowers are for every occasion from birth to death. They are part of our world, our cultures and our spirits. We give flowers for romance, we give flowers for celebrations, and simply, we buy flowers to bring our personal spaces joy.

Studies have shown that flowers impact happiness, help connect people and increase feelings of kindness and compassion. Have you ever received flowers and NOT feel better?Flowers have the power to lift our moods, and decrease depression. Flowers are important in nature – and to humans – in many different ways.

Now, if you can, imagine a wedding without flowers! Again, it is like saying imagine a wedding without the vows. It just isn’t possible, once again, hard to visualize. Flowers are for a wedding like air conditioning is for a heatwave! Unimaginable without it!

Most couples know the basics of flowers for their wedding but there are small details that can be forgotten. I like to create a list to make sure all the floral arrangements, options and personal flowers are accounted for. Did you remember Grandma?

Most of the time these little extra bouquets can be simple poseys but the impact of their significance is very special for the recipients. Of course bridesmaids and groomsmens have their symbolic bouquets and boutonnieres but those other guests such as a godparent or special person in your life can also be acknowledged with flowers.

I’ve created a wedding flower guide as you consider your options and decor. It is pretty comprehensive but not exhaustive. Sometimes couples have another idea for flowers so anything is possible. Download your free copy here and look at the bridal shapes, decoration options for your ceremony and table flowers for the reception.

This Floral Styling Guide will help you in your planning because a wedding without flowers is NOT possible! Download and take a look at the list of flowers and ideas to help you get started.
