A Château Wedding July 4, 2022
Turn right, turn left, look yonder and beyond and you will probably see a chateau especially while in the Loire Valley. And this region of France is synonomous with a beautiful wedding! That’s what took place on July 4th-a beautiful wedding of two lovely people with their families from Kenya. I had the priviledge of creating their floral arrangements.
The ceremony took place outdoors with a stage decorated with a floor arch filled with greens, roses, snapdragons, and peonies in white, light peach and pink. From the ceremony, the cocktail festivities began on a beautiful terrace with a 4 piece orchestra seranading into the evening while the sunset with its orange glow reflecting off the Loire River.
Gold cache-pots were the centerpieces for cocktail tables and ivy and garden roses wrapped the tablecloth around these tall tables. As you moved into the dining room with your glass of champagne, tall candalabras centered each table with long centerpieces on each end of the 3 meter table and reaths of flowers circled the foot while small tables were dressed with their own wreath in the center.
The celebration continued the next morning for a brunch with family. Here the bride requested sunflowers; a nod to the region where one can see field upon field of sunflowers driving through the countryside.
Each table had a centerpiece of sunflowers and white accompanying flowers lengthened with ivy on each side where another circle of flowers rested.
